The National Solar Schools Program 2011-12 Funding

Eco Solar Energy Australia is committed to helping schools provide a greener future for generations to come and with the solar schools program opening up in July now is a great time to prepare to secure your schools funding for an Eco Solar Energy solar PV system.

We here at Eco Solar Energy would like to work with your school to help provide renewable energy and any educational assistance that would be of value. We believe this would be of great value to your school in reducing its carbon footprint and in educating your students by teaching them the value of renewable energy and its important role in their future.

School Solar Program is designed to help schools go green. It is a great way to save the school money and to contribute to a greener future for all Australians. It is a simple process of filling out forms on the link below to secure your schools funding for a greener environment.

We at Eco Solar Energy Australia welcome all schools to contact us and arrange a time for John McManus, our Renewable Energy Consultant who specializes in solar for schools, to come out and discuss this option of solar for your school and help forward your application. This is free for all schools to take part, so let’s do it - let’s make Australian schools, solar schools.

Below you will find a link to the National Solar Schools Program and how to register step by step.

Schools that wish to be considered for a grant in the 2011-12 funding round will be required to submit an online Application Form during the application period.

More detailed information on the 2011-12 funding round and how to apply will be published on this website,  http://www.climatechange.gov.au/government/programs-and-rebates/national-solar-schools/registration-instructions.aspx, in advance of the application round opening on 1 August 2011.

More on the funding program:

  1. A school is eligible to redeem a National Solar Schools Program grant of up to $30,000 (excluding GST) if it:
    - delivers education at a primary and/or secondary level, and
    - is eligible to receive Australian Government general recurrent grants payments appropriated under the Schools Assistance (Learning Together Achievement Through Choice and Opportunity) Act 2004.

  2. A combined primary and secondary school will be deemed to be a multi-campus school even if these campuses are co-located. If the school also has a combined population of 1000 or more students, it is eligible for two National Solar School Program grants totaling $100,000 (excluding GST).

  3. Schools must install a minimum of 2kW system to receive the full $30,000 or alternatively if the school installs a system less than 2kW it will only receive $15,000

Schools and organisations not eligible to receive the government funding can still install a grid connected system at a competitive price through Eco Solar Energy Australia Pty. Ltd. Contact our team for more information on which systems would suit your school.

We recommend school administrators read the full NSSP guidelines for further information about the program. It is the school's responsibility to register and lodge the claim; however we will give you as much support and advice regarding preparation of grant applications as possible
